A dad in the United Kingdom survived a terrifying bout of the coronavirus that involved 30 days on a ventilator, according to a report.
Omar Taylor, 31, was welcomed home to cheers Wednesday from neighbors after being discharged from Colchester Hospital in southeast England, the BBC reported.
“It actually felt so surreal. It was actually an amazing thing to see to watch Omar try and take it in,” his wife, Kaitlyn, said.
The father-of-two had spent weeks fighting for his life in the intensive care unit, where he was placed on a ventilator, the report said.

During his hospital stint, he suffered double pneumonia, sepsis, heart failure and two strokes, News.com.au reported.
But he bounced back and finally walked out of the hospital Wednesday to continue his road to recovery at home in Rowhedge, BBC reported.

“He still can’t speak, it’s very hard for us to understand him,” his wife said. “But he’s done so well at home. It’s just going to take time.”
